You cringed as another kick hit your forearm. You held the pup to your chest tightly as you shot an upwards glare from under the rim of your baseball cap. Three rough looking thugs were glowering at you, one of which had a swollen face as well as a bloodied nose.
“Don’t fuck with us!” One of them said as he lifted his foot to kick you again. You braced yourself for the next strike but then- nothing. “Oof!” You opened your eyes to see he had been knocked to the ground. You realized that a shadow had been cast over you by a tall figure in a lab coat. He had shoved the other two thugs out of the way and stood in f
